Alt. Energy Field-trip to Henry Borden Hydroelectric Plant

Students visited the city of Cubatão where they took a tour of the Henry Borden Hydroelectric Plant. Students received demonstrations on how the turbines run on a daily basis. And were able to see external and underground turbines at work.

After lunch, the students were surprised with a trip to one of São Paulo's many beaches. 

Wednesday July 13th: Portuguese Language: Situations

In our Portuguese classes, students are beginning to learn how to interact with others in different situations. Today's lesson involved interacting with people in restaurants. Students were separated into different groups, where they were asked to create different simulations that may occur in a restaurant. After that, they were asked to perform their simulations in front of the class.

Campinas: Photovoltaic Solar Power Plant

July 12th: Alt. Energy Field-trip to Campinas: Photovoltaic Solar Power Plant


Today, the students got to visit their first Photovoltaic Solar Power Research Plant, where they learned the many facets of solar power research and the findings of the company. Tour guides took us around many parts of the power plant, and students were able to physically touch solar grids and ride around in 100% electric powered cars.
